Help Maroondah find your event
Give Maroondah residents the clear, practical information they need to discover your event and decide whether it is right for them.
Submit your event
Submit your event as a guest – no account is required. If you already have an MX organiser account and want the submission connected to it, log in before completing the form.
No account required. Complete the event form below and MX will review the submission before it appears publicly. Existing organisers can log in first if they want the submission connected to their account.
Add New Event
Why add your event to MX?
Events are often spread across social posts, venue pages, booking sites, newsletters and flyers. MX brings useful local event information together in one place for Maroondah residents.
What the free listing includes
- A dedicated event listing when the event is suitable for MX.
- An approved event image or flyer supplied by you.
- Clear date, time, venue, suburb, cost and booking information.
- Organiser and venue details.
- Relevant categories that help readers find the event.
- Editorial improvements for clarity, structure and reader usefulness.
- Consideration for relevant MX newsletters, planners, guides and social coverage.
Events we can accept
- Community events, open days, fundraisers and local gatherings.
- Performances, live music, theatre, comedy and exhibitions.
- Family activities, school holiday programs and youth events.
- Workshops, classes, talks and practical local sessions.
- Food, hospitality, market, venue and local business events.
- Health, wellbeing, sport and community participation activities.
MX is Maroondah-first. Events should take place in Maroondah or have a clear and useful connection for Maroondah residents.
Submitting an event does not guarantee newsletter, guide or social-media coverage. Those placements remain editorial decisions. Paid or sponsored coverage will always be clearly labelled.
Information to prepare
Having these details ready will make the submission faster and help MX create a more useful listing.
- Event name: the official public title.
- Description: what is happening, who it suits and what people should expect.
- Date and time: include the correct start and finish details.
- Venue: venue name, street address and suburb.
- Cost: free, entry price or a clear price range.
- Booking or information link: use the official event, registration or ticket page.
- Organiser details: the organisation and a reliable contact.
- Approved image: a clear event image or flyer that MX has permission to publish.
- Useful practical details: age suitability, accessibility, parking, public transport, capacity, cancellation or wet-weather information where relevant.
Video walkthrough
A short screen-recorded guide showing how to create an account and complete the event form is being prepared. Until it is available, use the written field guide below.
Written field-by-field guide
Complete the form with information that a local reader can understand without needing to search elsewhere.
Event title
Use the event’s official name. Keep the title specific and avoid adding dates, locations or promotional claims unless they are part of the official title.
Description
Explain what the event is, who it is for and what will happen. Include practical information that may affect someone’s decision to attend. MX may edit descriptions for clarity, length, tone and usefulness without changing the facts.
Dates and times
Check the start and finish dates and times carefully. If the event has multiple sessions, make the schedule clear rather than asking readers to work it out from the description.
Event image
Upload a clear image or flyer that you own or have permission to provide for publication. Avoid screenshots with cut-off text, unrelated stock images or artwork that is too small to read.
Categories and tags
Choose only the categories that genuinely describe the event. Accurate categories make the listing easier to discover. Use tags sparingly for useful details that are not already covered.
Venue
Select an existing venue when the correct one is available. Otherwise add the venue name, address, suburb, state and postcode. Check the address before submitting.
Organiser
Select or add the organisation responsible for the event. Include a reliable email address, phone number or website where appropriate.
Event website
Link to the most useful official page for bookings, registration or current event information. Avoid a general home page when a specific event page exists.
Series
Use this only when the event belongs to an existing named series or program. It can otherwise be left blank.
Additional fields
Leave MX processing fields blank unless MX has specifically asked you to complete one.
Cost
Enter the standard admission price or mark the event as free. Explain concessions, family prices, booking fees or variable pricing in the description when needed.
What happens after submission?
- Your event is sent to MX as a draft for review.
- MX checks its local relevance, accuracy, clarity and completeness.
- We may edit the wording or contact you if important information is missing.
- Suitable events are approved for the MX event system.
- The event may also be considered for a relevant newsletter, guide or social post.
Corrections and help
If a listing is missing, a detail has changed or you need help with the form, email hello@themx.com.au.
Include the event name, the listing link if available and the exact correction required.
Keep in touch with MX
Adding an event does not subscribe you to marketing. If you would like local events, community updates and useful discoveries delivered to your inbox, you can subscribe separately.
